You can look forward not only to railway tracks, but also tram tracks! Even metro lovers will find something to their liking.

The original paintings are acrylic paint on canvas, so you can see the canvas print on your calendar too.

And what does the author say about the calendar and the exhibition of paintings?

Two eras and one canvas. This idea was born in my head and kept me up late at night. For weeks I have been thinking about how I could combine two timelines into one coherent theme to create a complex and interesting painting.

Ever since I was a little boy, I have loved old photographs comparing the same places, taken many years apart. I liked to look for all the details that distinguished the present and the past. And this was exactly the feeling I had in mind when I was creating the theme of my next exhibition.

When I shared this idea with friends and acquaintances, they usually couldn't understand me well, but how could they? Even I didn't know what it was supposed to look like at the time... All I knew was that it should be a view of a contemporary place, with parts of the past shining through and revealing all the stories the location holds. I wanted the visitors to my exhibition to become, if only for a moment, archaeologists who could uncover every single secret behind every stroke of my brush. I wanted them to find the reason why I chose to paint each painting as you can see it now.

The decisive word in the separation of time was colour. The old time had to be strictly black and white (or blue-grey with cream shades) and the view of the new part of the picture should be as full of colour as possible. In this way I kept a certain key that would ensure that the observer would not get lost in the transition from one timeline to another. While this approach may seem to be a kind of "leading by the hand", it certainly makes sense in the end. In some parts of the paintings, time hasn't written so heavily on the surroundings, and so the historical part could blend in with the present scene.

After carefully testing this technique on a test painting, I was determined and confident that everything was working as it should and ready to dive into the work.
