The M240, or the 820 series if you like, is a comfortable motor car produced between 1959 and 1964 by Vagonka Studénka in Czechoslovakia. It was given an immense elegance by the well-known industrial designer František Kardaus. A total of 122 Singrovka units - as these little engines are most often called because of their characteristic engine sound - roamed the rails of Czechoslovakia.
Although they were relatively unreliable in operation (they began to be scrapped as early as 1982), several functional units have survived to this day, to the delight of railway fans. They are mainly known from the Jizera Mountains "Zubačka".
